FAQs

What style of teaching should I expect my child to receive?
At HGA, we use a theme-based learning approach, where multiple subjects are integrated around a certain topic. Instead of teaching in isolation, using unit studies helps students to make connections between subjects and ideas. This allows us to tailor the learning to the students’ unique interests and reach different learning styles. We see value in multiple age ranges learning together with different complexities.
Will lunch be provided?
Your child will bring their own lunch and a snack from home each day. We will have designated times for both snack and lunch breaks during the day.
Are we faith based?
Homegrown Academy is rooted in our belief in Jesus Christ, and we incorporate faith in various ways throughout our homeschool enrichment program. We strive to create an environment where faith is valued and interwoven into our learning experiences.
Are there any additional fees or costs beyond tuition?
There is a one-time registration fee at the beginning of each school year. Parents/guardians are also responsible for purchasing the items on the student supply list. Additionally, there may be occasional fees throughout the year for field trips, camps, family events, and other activities. Families will be notified in advance of any upcoming costs.
Are parents required to stay for the school day?
No, Homegrown Academy is a drop-off program. Parents are not required to stay for the school day. We encourage parents to use this time to take care of other things they need to tend to while we engage and teach your school-aged children!
What does a typical day look like for students at Homegrown Academy?
A typical school day at Homegrown Academy runs from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Drop-off begins at 8:45 AM, and pick-up begins at 2:00 PM. Your child will bring their own lunch, and we will have a designated lunch time. Our hope is to spend the majority of our time together in nature.
Are there any parental involvement opportunities?
Yes! Homegrown Academy offers opportunities throughout the school year for parents to serve and take part in their child's learning. We will keep families updated and informed about these opportunities as they arise.
Is there any work that will need to be completed at home?

What curriculum does Homegrown Academy use?
